01 General disclaimer
The information and calculators provided on fintoolhub.com (the “Site”) are for general informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on this Site is intended to be, and should not be taken as, financial, tax, legal, accounting, or retirement planning advice for any individual’s specific situation.
02 Not professional advice
Using a FinToolHub calculator does not create a financial advisor-client, accountant-client, attorney-client, or any other professional relationship between you and FinToolHub. We are not a registered investment advisor, tax preparer, or law firm, and no calculator output should be treated as a recommendation to take (or not take) any specific financial action.
Before making a decision based on any number produced by this Site — retiring on a specific date, changing your tax withholding, adjusting a 401(k) contribution, and so on — consult a qualified, licensed professional who can review your complete financial situation.
03 Estimates, not guarantees
Every number our calculators produce is an estimate based on the inputs you provide and the general formulas and rules we’ve built the calculator around, as described on our About page. Estimates can differ from your actual, official figures because:
- Tax brackets, contribution limits, and benefit formulas change, sometimes annually
- Your specific circumstances may include exceptions, deposits, or adjustments a general calculator can’t account for
- Data entry errors — yours or a rounding difference in ours — can shift a result
- Some calculators simplify multi-step official processes into a single estimate for clarity
04 Not affiliated with any government agency
Where we cite a government source (for example, OPM’s published FERS computation rules), that citation is for transparency about our methodology — it is not a claim of partnership, review, or approval by that agency.
05 Category-specific notes
| Calculator type | What to know |
|---|---|
| Retirement (FERS, TSP, military, etc.) | Not an official annuity estimate. Your agency’s Retirement Services Estimate or OPM’s own determination is authoritative — this Site’s estimate is not. |
| Tax calculators | Not tax preparation or filing advice. Tax law changes yearly and varies by state; confirm figures with the IRS, your state tax agency, or a CPA. |
| Capital gains / home sale | Real estate and investment tax treatment depends on factors (holding period, basis adjustments, exemptions) specific to your transaction — verify with a tax professional before filing. |
| Debt, mortgage, and loan calculators | Actual lender terms, fees, and payoff amounts may differ from this Site’s estimate. Confirm exact figures with your lender or servicer. |
06 Advertising disclosure
FinToolHub displays advertising, including through Google AdSense. Ads are served based on factors including your browsing activity and the content of the page you’re viewing — see our Privacy Policy for detail. The appearance of an ad on this Site is not an endorsement, review, or recommendation by FinToolHub of the advertiser, their product, or their service. We don’t review or vet individual ads before they’re served.
07 No guarantee of outcomes
Using a FinToolHub calculator — whether for debt payoff, emergency savings, retirement, or any other topic — does not guarantee any particular financial outcome. Your actual results will depend on factors outside our (or the calculator’s) control, including your own follow-through, changes in your circumstances, and changes in the underlying rules or markets.
08 Errors and corrections
We build and test our calculators against known-correct examples before publishing, but errors can still happen — in our formulas, in a source going out of date, or in how a result displays. If you find a number that doesn’t match an official source, please let us know. We review and correct genuine errors as quickly as we can, though we can’t guarantee a specific timeline.
09 External links
This Site may link to external websites, including government agencies and other resources, for reference. We don’t control these sites and aren’t responsible for their content or accuracy. A link doesn’t imply our endorsement of the linked site. See Section 7 of our Terms & Conditions for more detail.
10 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FinToolHub disclaims all liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on information or calculator results on this Site. This Disclaimer should be read together with the full limitation of liability in Section 8 of our Terms & Conditions, which governs your use of the Site.
11 Changes to this disclaimer
We may update this Disclaimer from time to time to reflect new calculators, changed rules, or other reasons. We’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when we do.
